Top Wood Pergola Kits

Wood Pergolas are my favorite type of pergola. They can transform almost any outdoor setting into a real show piece. Wooden pergolas have an advantage over other types of pergolas in that they look more professional and in some cases they can even give a backyard a real rustic feel to it.

Why Choose a Wood Pergola Kit?

The main reason people choose wooden pergolas over vinyl pergolas and metal pergolas is because they suit almost any outdoor setting and they give an outdoor setting a greater sense of class than the others. The downside to getting a wooden pergola is that they are often more expensive than the other types, however, as with all things you tend to get what you pay for and so I personally always choose wood over other types of pergolas.

If you are going to go for a wooden pergola kit to install, you will want to make sure you are in pretty good shape (or that you have a friend to help you) as some of these kits can be heavy – really heavy!  The interactive chart of Wood Pergola Kits below in combination with our ratings will help you to decide which pergola kit will best suit your needs.

Installing a Wood Pergola Kit

The following video is from on how to construct a wooden pergola. Note that all the wooden pergola kits shown in the table above already have everything cut to size so you won’t need to follow all of the steps in this video. Most wooden pergola kits are similar enough that this video should help you out regardless of your selection.

Note: When installing a Pergola it is recommended that you enlist the help of a friend and that you allocate at least 3-4 hours for the project (longer if you are not a skilled handyman). If you need more guidance please checkout out our main pergola kits page.
